Volta puts low voltage chargers in parking lots and allows people to charge for free. The chargers are paid for by ads on the chargers themselves, so it works as a synergistic charging solution: companies get exposure and consumers get free charging.

Scott has always been passionate about cars, and now that passion has extended to electric vehicles. Volta is an indication of where transportation is heading, and gives other sectors (in this case, marketing) a chance to get in on the transition. Not to mention, Volta chargers are made in the USA and are one of the many examples of the rich employment opportunities thanks to the energy revolution.

“I'm fascinated by energy and the future of energy and by creating better systems. I mean electricity is a much better fuel than gasoline on just a pure efficiency basis. It's five times more efficient than gasoline. So if you're thinking about creating an energy system, a transportation system for the 21st century, it seems like a natural fit.”
