Can't Stop EV Adoption

“At a press conference last Thursday ahead of the 2025 Chicago Auto Show, ComEd announced $100 million in new rebates designed to boost EV fleet purchases and charging stations across northern Illinois. The program helps meet the mandate for the state’s Climate and Equitable Jobs Act, which calls for 1 million EVs on the roads by 2030.”

Why I love this…

Electrification of transportation is a good thing for the utilities. Not only because it increases the demand for electricity, but because with bi-directional charging, EVs can contribute to reliability of the grid. EVs can become assets in virtual power plants.

The utilities that want to be relevant in the future are designing for renewable generation and electric transportation.
